Costumes and spaceships

It has been a full week with all manner of activities - our church fall festival, a field trip to Montgomery, a baby shower, and a Scout event too. The Montgomery trip will have to be a later post. It was amazing though!

On Sunday, we had a great time at the festival. I mentioned it in my last post, but didn't have good photos of everyone then. Elijah was Peter Pan (since we don't want him to grow up too quickly), Isaac was a motocross racer (his first time to want a costume in years), and Abigail was an Egyptian princess (specifically the one who pulled Moses out of the Nile). And, yes, I did make her crown, and sew her dress. Thank you for noticing.

Today was the Cub Scout Space Derby. Isaac placed 2nd three times, and 1st once, out of the 4 heats. We were quite proud of that, especially since we didn't go all out or anything, and James let him do a majority of the work - sanding, painting, gluing, with some help from James, and my painting the lightning bolt. He was so proud. Our friends, the Cottons, were there also, and Grant got 4 2nd place finishes, I think. We were a pleasantly unassuming, underachieving, and very happy, group!
