The new summer look

After about 2 years of growing my hair out, the day finally arrived. I've been rather impatiently growing it out to donate for Pantene's program, Beautiful Lengths, which is similar to Locks of Love, though the hair they get is primarily made into wigs donated to women who are chemo patients. With my Mom's cancer struggle last year, this was a cause dear to my heart.

So, today at noon, I went in to get Annette (the girl who cuts it) to look at it, and she said she thought it was time, so we went for it! She teased that if I was much further along in my pregnancy she'd be worried I was just hormonal and ready for something drastic, but we've talked about this for months now, and she knew I was serious. She said that she thought it's thick and healthy enough that they could use mine for 3 wigs. :-) So, 8-9" worth of my hair will soon be on its way to Pantene. Thanks to my Mom for encouraging me to do this, and for my sweet kids and hubby who cheered and took pictures while I sat there, not quite as brave as I wanted to be. We all like the new 'do. It's short, and is curlier than ever, but feels so great, just in time for summer!

Welcome!
