Just silliness

The other morning before school, Elijah found some flower-shaped clings that had been on Abigail's window. He pulled several off, and showed me how to be silly and put one on his nose. He and Abigail giggled and were so funny, I had to take some pictures and have my turn too.

A Tale of Two Licenses

Don't you love to get your photo taken for Sam's Club memberships, driver's licenses, etc.? Few of us enjoy that, and usually the results are not worth sharing. However, for the purpose of this blog, I'll be brave and put mine up here for everyone to see. :-) My license expired in late January, so it was a few days after when I had a chance for James to go with us, so I didn't have to take all 3 kids in the county services building. We were scrambling to get there before they closed, and then got to the parking lot when I realized I didn't have my wallet for some crazy reason. We zipped back home, grabbed it, and made it back with 10 minutes to spare. Abigail went in with me, I smiled quickly for the photo, and got my blurry temporary license, unable to hardly even tell it was my face on there.

When I was paying at Target tonight, I saw the new license in my wallet that just came in the mail the other day, and had to show James. He commented that it was a good picture, and then I pulled out the old one. We both laughed and laughed.

Here is the picture from four years ago. I think it is overall a decent photo.

Then, here is the new picture.

James and I get so tickled for some reason, comparing the two. The hair, clothing - I don't know. Maybe we are just sleep-deprived, but something about the differences crack us up! He even said I really needed to do this post since we have been so amused by it, and this topic led to a great discussion with the Target cashier about her license photo. She had to have hers redone when she was 9 months pregnant and the county clerk asked her if any info needed to change. She said she told the girl, "Yeah, under Weight, just put 'blimp'." I'm so glad I didn't have that timing...I'd have been tempted to drive with an expired license!

Random Monday

* Today is 02-04-08. I love even numbers. My Mom does too. We're just weird like that.
* We walked to the library today, and it was Elijah's first outdoor stroller excursion. You can do that when it's 70 degrees in February. I'm glad for a sunny (though muggy) day.
* For the 2nd week in a row, I have our meals planned for each night. I am thankful for the ability to be organized in at least one area of my life.
* We had hours of productive schoolwork, for the first time since this baby was born. I'm grateful for the ability to teach my kids and enjoy doing it.
* Just 11 days till U2 - 3D is at the Rave in Bham. Can't wait.
* My Mom came Friday and spent the night, then my Dad joined us Saturday and they both were with us almost all day and then we ate dinner with my brother. I value family time.
* Worshiping through praise music at church Sunday blessed my heart. I appreciate those who share their talents and gifts through serving and ministering to our body of believers. Autumn joined us and that was cool.
* All my household appliances work. What a blessing they are.
* My husband just finished his work week this morning and lost no babies this past week. Now he's home for several days. YEA for a life partner and best friend who loves me so!
* I watched my first entire Super Bowl game and the underdog I was rooting for pulled it out in dramatic fashion. Isaac and Abigail keep cheering for the Giants. That reminds me of "Madagascar" which I LOVE - 'All hail the New York Giants!' hee heee...
* Made a new friend at Abi's gym today, and realized multiple connections we share - a believer, homeschooler, friend of a friend. Very cool.
* Ate queso and chips with my sweet Overthinker friend and watched our kids celebrate her middle boy's birthday. How amazing to have a friend where each member of my family adores her entire brood and never get tired of each other.
* I'm so, so thankful that it's been two years since my Mom found out she had cancer, and she's cancer-free today.
* Loving on this sleeping babe in my arms, while typing on a laptop, while sitting in my recliner, is so relaxing and fun. I love technology. Dad, thanks for the 'puter.

Have an awesome week friends!!

Random stuff

Thanks for the tag, Michelle! These are 7 random facts about me.

1. I once spent a couple of hours in July with my then-boyfriend digging through a landfill to find love letters, ticket stubs, and other mementos of ours that were accidentally thrown away. Since he left work to help chase down the dump truck with me, I had to marry him after that.
2. I have ridden in the front limo, with the family, of a funeral for an African American lady I had only met once.
3. My toes are almost all the same length, except for my baby toes.
4. I think pinestraw-filled flower beds are incredibly satisfying.
5. I spent the night with my brother, in his downtown loft, last night. I like my house even more now.
6. I'm growing my hair out to donate to Beautiful Lengths, and it's taking FOREVER.
7. I heat doughnuts and scrape off the glaze. It's just too sweet, which Amy thinks is insane. Actually, I think her words were, "I love you, but you are a freak of nature."

Now, you're it! If you don't have a blog, you can post your 7 here in the comments!
1. Sandi
