We had a great time with my parents this past weekend in Decatur, at the Alabama Jubilee. We got up early Sat. a.m. (5:00) to go see the hot air balloons depart from Point Mallard State Park, then saw them again in the evening at the Balloon Glow. We were even fortunate enough to have a special treat Sunday morning as several balloons flew right over my Mom and Dad's back yard, and then came back through that evening!
They were so colorful and amazing. Something about seeing these giant balloons being lifted and carried by the breezes was so relaxing and peaceful. I highly recommend it if you can ever make this event, and it's all free.
