Winter Storm 2008

O.k., well, maybe not. Still, we thoroughly enjoyed the whopping 1/2" of snow we received Saturday morning. Since Isaac doesn't remember the dusting we got back in 2001, this was the first snow he or Abigail had ever really enjoyed. Though we'd hoped for a couple of inches, they were really content with this little bit, and Abigail especially had fun playing for an hour and a half in it. Isaac came in rather quickly, saying, "That snow is so...COLD!" I replied that yes, in fact, it was. ;-) He has had a cough for weeks though, and just wasn't up to playing too much.

We all enjoyed watching it fall as much as anything, and seeing how it covered our yard and home with such a pristine white blanket. Our little feathered friends were especially fun to watch as they frantically ate non-stop all day from our feeders. I don't know if they were panicked, thinking they had ended up in the wrong part of the country or what, but it was so cool to see them feeding in little clusters, and we counted around 10 out at the feeders several times during the day.

James had worked all night, so slept through most of it, though he did get to see it start falling before heading to bed that morning. Elijah enjoyed the snow by snuggling down with Mama in the coziness of our house, and wore a cute snowman shirt, since it may be the only opportunity he has to dress appropriately with that outfit! Hope you had some fun white stuff too!
