My 25 Random Things, from Facebook

I love these kind of questionnaires. They remind me of that Animaniacs episode with the "Do you wanna take a survey?" lady.

1. I think global warming has affected me. Lately, I've become colder natured, like I was before pregnancy with Abigail. It's been a long, warm 6 years, and all of a sudden, I get cold again! I think it was actually losing this last 5 pounds. So weird.

2. For money I have: worked in a plant nursery, taught school, done manual labor in a hydroelectric plant, baked cakes and catered, edited papers, taken care of babies, and clerked in a pharmacy.

3. I have ridden in the family limousine for the funeral of an African American woman I'd only met once.

4. My husband is truly my best friend and most favorite person in the world. 7 words to describe him - silly, sweet, strong, sensitive, servant-hearted, super-Daddy, striving to be godly. I'm beyond blessed.

5. I would rather dig in my yard or mow my lawn than clean any part of my house ever.

6. Reading and playing piano are favorite hobbies of mine that I don't do nearly enough at this point in my life. Sleep is something I also enjoy, but am not familiar with anymore, since I have 2 children who don't understand the concept.

7. I long for heaven. I think that living on the earth is highly overrated. These song lyrics come to mind often from Land of My Sojourn by Rich Mullins - "Nobody tells you when you get born here how much you'll come to love it, and how you'll never belong here. So I call you my country, and I'll be lonely for my home..."

8. While I'm still here, I'd like to travel to lots of earthly places: Ireland, Prince Edward Island, England, and France top my list today.

9. I enjoy being a wife and mom and staying home with my kids. I really am so happy being my kids' teacher and taking care of them. I have zero desire to get a "real" job again.

10. I love holidays and having an excuse to celebrate anything. I'll throw a party or put on a parade for a smidgen of a good reason.

11. I do not like confrontation, and am a peacemaker by nature. I am also laidback and so rarely get bothered enough to even think about having a confrontation. It's usually not worth it.

12. I remember special Scripture, lyrics, and movie lines, and love to keep them written and recorded to ponder over and over. Words are powerfully important to me. I'm also often teased for remembering birthdates and detailed info on people I don't even know well, but have been told once. I'm not sure why that is.

13. I have three children, and gave birth to two of them. I try hard to not take a single day of their lives for granted. I am in awe that God let me be their mom and take that honor very seriously.

14. I knew I wanted to be a first grade teacher when I was in the first grade. My teacher was horrific and spanked a little LD girl in front of us with a yardstick all the time ((shuddering)). I determined to be a nicer teacher and pray I succeeded.

15. I passionately love babies, and I hope we can adopt again. We really want a little girl to round out our family and Abi is praying for a sister.

16. I detest pantyhose and heels. In fact, I would go barefoot year round if I could. I don't understand people who own lots of shoes.I think I must be part hobbit.

17. I get excited about fun costume jewelry, but do not want any one expensive piece. I much prefer creative clothing and jewelry, than valuable, or name-brand.

18. I am not a typical girly shopper. I almost always go in, get it, and get out. My Dad and I share this approach, and Mom and James are wanderers and window shoppers.

19. I lived for the family after-Thanksgiving-dinner football game every year as a kid, because I could play with the boys and dads. I like to think I would've been an awesome Powderpuff receiver and it's a great regret of mine that there was no opportunity for me to play on a team.

20. I'm blessed to have a diverse group of friends of varying ages, throughout the country, whom I trust with my heart and family.

21. I have never been out of the country, but I was entertained by a group of Saudi Arabian diplomats and a prince for 3 days in Washington D.C. as a teenager.

22. James and I spent a few days in NYC 3 months after 9/11, and it was amazing. I'd go back in a minute.

23. Because I was a nerd in high school, I had academic and music scholarships to Bible college, and majored in/have a bachelor's in Elementary Ed. and Bible.

24. I have my entire funeral service planned out in detail for James in My Documents, since I think I'll go before him. It's complete with music to be played, and instructions to serve Bluebell ice cream. He rolled his eyes at me when I told him.

25. It would be a dream come true if we could live on several acres in a slightly larger home, with rocky hillsides, and lots of trees, and a huge garden, with room for animals and kids to play. I have a great neighborhood, but am not a fan of subdivisions or suburbia.

Apparently, I have a lot to say. Sorry about my wordiness. It's a sickness.
